Important COVID-19 Update: Masonic Activity Suspended

By Grand Lodge |

A message from the Grand Master, M.W. Richard Maggio:

This is not the most up to date announcement. Click here for the latest update. Thank you.

Earlier today, I issued a statement about our plans to continue forward with our March Quarterly Communication. Since that time, however, things have developed.

On the afternoon of March 10th, 2020, Governor Charlie Baker declared a State of Emergency to Support the Commonwealth’s Response to the Coronavirus.

In light of this declaration, out of concern for the health and welfare of our brethren, and the potential susceptibility they may have to contracting COVID-19, we have decided to suspend all Masonic activity in the jurisdiction of Massachusetts until further notice.

This declaration is effective immediately – the March Quarterly communication is canceled. The Grand Lodge business office will remain open.

Brethren, I want to be extremely clear – this act is being taken out of an abundance of caution. As far as we are aware, there are no suspected cases of Massachusetts Masons who have contracted COVID-19. We will provide further information to you once we have it. We will be evaluating this on a day by day basis.

As always, take due notice and govern yourself accordingly. Thank you.
