Brethren lay a wreath at the grave of M. Wor. Henry Price.

For over a decade, the Brethren of Charles W. Moore Lodge in Fitchburg, of the 22nd Masonic District, neighboring districts and appending Masonic bodies from across Massachusetts, gather to honor our U.S. servicemen and women who sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we have today and our first Grand Master, Most Worshipful Henry Price during the Townsend, Massachusetts Memorial Day Parade.

Toward the eof the route the brethren broke off, heading up Price Ave. to the resting place of M. Wor. Bro. Price. Once assembled, Rt. Wor. Michael Scott Cavanagh read M. Wor. Bro Price’s achievements, family history and more important details of his unique Masonic career as the “Founder of Masonry in America”.

Rt. Wor. Michael Cavanaugh discusses the impact of M. Wor. Henry Price.

This was followed by a wreath laying ceremony, closing remarks from Wor. Michael Firmani, the current Master of Charles W. Moore Lodge, our esteemed guests and, of course, dinner as we retired back to the lodge.

This year, like last, we were honored to have the brethren from The Henry Price Lodge and officers from The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts join us. This year, in M. Wor. George Forest Hamilton’s absence, acting Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master Rt. Wor. John MacLeod led the procession.
