Grand Master’s Veterans Day Message – 2020

By Robert Huke |

A message from the Grand Master, Richard Maggio.

No matter what is going on in the world around us, we should always pause and reflect on the sacrifices many have made to protect the country we love.

As President Woodrow Wilson wrote on the first Armistice Day, we continue to be “filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service” on this, the 101st Veterans Day.

Duty, integrity, ethics, honor, courage and loyalty. These are the core values our Department of Defense stands for. These values never take a day off – no matter the circumstances.

2020 has been quite a tough year in the United States. Yet despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the active members of our armed forces continue to protect and serve in defense of our great nation, and the values it stands for.

As we work to continue the tradition of Freemasonry in our communities, we should draw inspiration from those who work to continue our shared American traditions each and every day.

God bless our troops – and may God bless each and every one of you.
