Help Restore Oliver Ames Lodge

Bro. Jason Sutton is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Oakes Ames Memorial Hall Association.

Oliver Ames Lodge has fallen into disrepair. Members are hoping to raise the funds necessary to permanently restore this magnificent Masonic Temple to its original state and open it to the public for the first time in over six decades.

It is located at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall in Easton, Massachusetts, which is a National Historic Landmark standing as one of the most impressive and iconic buildings in America.

The Hall was erected in 1881 by the children of U.S. Rep. Oakes Ames to honor their father. Among them was Massachusetts Gov. Oliver Ames, a freemason, who constructed a glorious Masonic Temple on the third floor and dedicated its use to Paul Dean Lodge in Easton, which has since merged with Paul Revere Lodge in Brockton. The building was designed by freemason, Henry Hobson Richardson, who was also one of the world’s most distinguished and influential architects in history.

Among the items urgently in need of repair are the Lodge ceiling which includes a painted, starry-decked heaven with striking symmetrical patterns and a large all-seeing eye. It is the only remaining original surface in the whole building. Without your help, this important historical room and overhead display could be lost forever.
