A Thanksgiving Message for the Craft from the Grand Master

My Brother,

Most Americans recognize the origins of Thanksgiving as a celebration of the harvest. What may be less appreciated, however, is that Thanksgiving is also a celebration of the blessings of the past year. In that spirit, I want to share that one of my great personal blessings for the past 11 months has been the opportunity to meet and shake hands with so many men whom I am honored to call my Brethren. Thank you for all you do on behalf of Massachusetts Freemasonry and thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Grand Master.

Reflecting on the blessings of the past year naturally causes you to also look ahead toward what the future may hold. For over a year, a dedicated group of Brethren have been hard at work in preparation and planning for these last few weeks of the year and the events that will soon take place.

As you probably know by now, 2023 is the the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. This event was a significant link in the chain of events that led to the Revolutionary War; and ultimately, our independence. The involvement of Hancock, Revere, and Warren and their connection to the Craft is well understood and appreciated by our Brethren. The public, less so. But I think that this story is a piece of history they will be interested in hearing and that we should be telling.

The anniversary is being remembered with the traditional reenactment at the Boston Tea Party Ship. To celebrate our unique connection to the Tea Party, our 250th Anniversary Commemoration Committee – in conjunction with the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, the Sons of the American Revolution, Revolution 250, and the Dr. Joseph Warren Foundation – have organized an informative, enjoyable, and memorable weekend of activities that promises to be a highlight of every Brothers’ Masonic experience. I hope you will join us. For additional information and to register to attend, please visit MassMasons.org.

During this Holiday season and for the year to come, let your life be full of both thanks and giving. May the Great Architect of the Universe bless you and your loved ones. May He continue to bless our great Fraternity. And let God bless America!

Sincerely & fraternally,

X
